Welcome to the Clarendon Hills Library’s Dark & Stormy Night Collection project! We launched this activity to have some fun while showcasing the talent and creativity that abound in our village.
When you read the words, “It was a dark and stormy night…,” what do you think of? It may be a cliché, but it conjures up lots of different pictures, sounds, and feelings. Share your interpretations of these words through pictures, photos, poems, short stories, songs, videos or any other digital media, and help us build the Dark & Stormy Collection in time for Halloween.
We’re seeking entries from all ages—this is a great family project! Every entry received by Friday, October 18, will be included in the Dark & Stormy Night Collection—the first of what we hope will be many community collections on the BiblioBoard platform.

SUBMITTING DIGITAL CONTENT TO THE DARK AND STORMY NIGHT COLLECTION
The submission process is free and only takes about 10 minutes. You are welcome to submit as many pieces of digital content as you would like. Before you submit, please make sure that your content is:
What Digital Content Can I Submit?
Just about anything! Suggested content includes drawings, paintings, photos, poems, short stories, videos, or audio content.

How Do I Digitize My Content?
You can scan drawings, pictures, photos and written documents to computer files either at home or at the library on our copy machine. We’ll walk you through the process! Please contact us at 630-323-8188 for guidance in submitting audio or video content.
Can I control what identifying information will be shown online?
Yes. The information entered into the “Add Contributor” section of the submission form will appear online. You may indicate full name, first name only, first name and last initial or even anonymous here. Later in the submission process, you’ll be asked for information about the person submitting—full name, contact information, etc. This will not be made public. We need it here at the library in case we need to contact you.

If you would like for a CHPL staff member to submit your entry instead, please send your files to cns@clarendonhillslibrary.org with “Dark and Stormy” in the subject line.
